Slightly raise the keyboard and tilt it back to reveal its ribbon cable connection on the motherboard.ĭisconnect the keyboard's ribbon cable by raising the flap that locks the connector in place and gently pulling the end of the cable from its socket. Remove the screws from the area just above the “F” keys. Pry off with a flat-head screwdriver the upper section of the keyboard cover, which is the half closest to the display panel. These are typically found at the two corners of the laptop’s bottom, directly under the keyboard inside the battery compartment and on either side of the memory module bay.įlip your Pavilion back over and open the display panel. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard cover. Lift off the covers and remove the memory modules. Remove the screws from the CMOS battery and memory module covers. Lift off the cover, carefully unplug the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard and slide the drive out of its bay. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive cover. Depress the locking tabs and lift out the battery assembly. Remove the screw or screws securing your Pavilion’s battery cover. Unplug its power cord, disconnect all peripherals, close the display panel and flip it back over. Flip your Pavilion back over, open the display panel and turn off its power.
